Fashion designer Misa Hylton, the ex of Sean "Diddy" Combs, is speaking out in support of Cassie after public outcry around a newly surfaced 2016 surveillance video of the media mogul physically assaulting the singer.
The mom of Diddy's middle son, Justin Combs, took to Instagram to speak out about the video that shows Combs hitting, dragging and kicking then-girlfriend Casandra "Cassie" Ventura Fine at a Los Angeles hotel.
On Instagram, Hylton spoke out about the hotel video footage alongside photos of Diddy's seven children.
"I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma," Hylton wrote in the caption.
Diddy has seven children with four women, including son Justin, 26, with Hylton. Diddy adopted Quincy Brown, 32, the son of Kimberly "Kim" Porter. The model and Diddy's former girlfriend died in 2018 of pneumonia.

Diddy and Porter also shared three other children: son Christian Combs, 25, and twin daughters D'Lila and Jessie Combs, 17, whom Hylton addressed in her Instagram post.
"These young people were raised by women that want the best for them – we put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams. Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them," Hylton wrote in her Instagram caption.
Diddy also has another daughter, 17-year-old Chance Combs, with businesswoman Sarah Chapman. His seventh and youngest child, daughter Love Sean Combs, was born in October 2022 with model Dana Tran.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs owned up to violentassault of Cassie caught on video. Should he have?
In her Instagram post, Hylton said "their father needs help and I am praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it."
On Sunday, Diddy apologized for his actions in the video saying he was "disgusted" and his "behavior on that video is inexcusable."
In a statement shared with USA TODAY, Cassie's legal team slammed Diddy's apology.
"Combs' most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt," attorney Meredith Firetog said. "When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to 'apologize' once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words."
